The Taylor Series 1 Fly Reel is the successor to the original TYPE1 and T1 models, incorporating refinements from continuous in-house testing. This Series 1 reel features a 100% sealed, waterproof carbon fiber brake system and a larger spool diameter, making it perfect for modern nymph fishing, saltwater applications, and targeting strong-fighting species.

For sizes #4–6, the spool diameter is 95 mm, allowing fast line pickup and minimizing line memory—ideal for Euronymphing. The #7–9 reels have a 106 mm diameter, excellent for quickly retrieving line when playing fast-moving fish like bonefish.

The reel’s frame is machined from anodized 6061 T6 aluminum, giving both durability and an appealing, high-quality finish.
